Samson is listed here as one of those heroes of faith who subdued kingdoms through faith. His life stresses the need for balance. Here are some lessons we should learn from this great hero of faith:
- Great strength in one area does not make up for great character weaknesses.
- God can use a person of faith in spite of his or her mistakes. Samson’s failures or heroic feats of strength were not mentioned in the New Testament, but his faith was mentioned as what distinguished him.
- We learn from this story that it is never too late to start over. However badly you may have failed in the past, today is not too late for you to put your complete trust in God.
- The anointing is usually given for the purpose of benefiting God’s Kingdom. But Samson persistently used it for the pursuit of selfish purposes.
- If you don’t deal with character flaws, you will find yourself on the floor!
PRAY: O Lord, heal me of character defects and make me strong, in the name of Jesus!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: God will not allow you to go down in defeat. You will not go down in shame. You will survive every temptation and complete your course. The anointing on your life will not diminish but grow and you will touch the world, in Jesus name!!!
