THE BIBLE EXPECTS A BELIEVER TO MARRY A BELIEVER

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? [15] And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Corinthians 6:14-15

No one has the ability to convert anyone; only the Holy Spirit can do that; so don’t marry someone hoping you will convert him or her.

Spiritual compatibility is of utmost importance in a relationship as important as marriage. There can be no unity if your spouse does not believe what you believe about God. If a man or a woman does not have Christ, he or she should not have you; why should you allow anyone to drag you to hell with them!

Most decisions, if not all, are made on the basis of religious convictions. The clash of interest with anyone who believes differently will stagnate the relationship if not break it altogether. It rarely works!

Besides, it is a command to be obeyed and not just a mere suggestion and those who love God keep His commandments.

PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to obey You in all things especially in marriage, in Jesus Name.
