After waiting for 25 years for the promised child Isaac, Abraham must have rejoiced when he (Isaac) was finally born. But God showed up and demanded for this precious child as a willing sacrifice from Abraham.
What was he to do? Quit at that time or obey the rather difficult demand? He chose to obey.

On the way to the mount where he was to offer Isaac to the Lord, Isaac asked a rather pertinent question that most of us will face in life. Where is the lamb? How can I get what to give? How do I obtain what to sacrifice to the Lord? (Life’s provision)? Abraham promptly responded,
The Lord will provide Himself …” (Genesis 22:8)

Life will ask you this question; people will ask you this question. Circumstances will ask you, your mind will ask you. Isaac asked his father, Mary asked the question: How shall this be? Zechariah asked the same question.

Most people know what they want but they don’t know how to get it. You set out to do business but where is the capital? You want to get married, but where is the man; where is the woman? You have even found the man or the woman but where is the money?
Notice that the ram was the most important thing in that sacrifice and it was missing. That vital part of your plan will be provided by the Lord if you look up to Him.

The next time your mind asks you how you will get married, pay that bill, solve that problem? Just say “The Lord will provide.” His name is Jehovah Jireh: God our Provider.

He provided…

  • Isaac for His Covenant Promise.
  • A ram for Abraham’s sacrifice.
  • Money in the hands of the Israelites on their way out of Egypt for the construction of the Tabernacle.
  • A whale to transport Jonah to the shore for his trip to Nineveh.
  • John the Baptist as the forerunner of Jesus.
  • The womb of Mary for the conception of His Son.
  • An upper room for the Last Supper.
  • A donkey to ride to Jerusalem.
  • A tomb for the burial of Jesus.

Finally, the bible tells us in Philippians 4:19 that God will provide all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Are you facing any need right now? The Lord will provide for Himself.
A driver drives, a farmer farms, a preacher preaches, a banker banks, a teacher teaches, a singer sings, – A PROVIDER PROVIDES!!!
He is not just a PROVIDER, HE IS A GREAT PROVIDER!

GOD WILL PROVIDE
