A great multitude followed Jesus after delivering such a deep and relevant word on the mount. It is not only miracles and prophecy that should attract people to Jesus or to the church. Follow a pastor who preaches the whole truth of the gospel.
True disciples follow because of the Word. Hear the reason Peter gave for following Him when He asked them if they wanted to leave Him after others departed from Him: “Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.” John 6:68
Jesus told Martha that Mary her sister had chosen the best part which was sitting and listening to the word of God. Luke 10:41-42
Miracles will follow you if you follow the Word. The real treasure is the Word. It is the word that produces miracles. Peter and his group who chose to follow the Lord because of the word not only received personal miracles, God used them to do miracles as well.
Make the daily pursuit of the Word your priority and the blessings of God will flow ceaselessly in your life! Follow a reading plan and listen to teachers of the word on tape or CD and be richly blessed.
PRAY: Dear Lord, sustain my interest in the Word of God daily and bless me with hidden truths as I study the word daily, in Jesus Name.
